Concept Art - Thor Reference

This is "Thor" one of my Original characters from Conquering Tide.

Finished his digital art reference, as I only have 10 days left to complete my Final project (yep, alarm bells are ringing in my head!)

Anyway, his conformation is based on that of a Friesian. He is a "silver champagne grulla sabino" in colouring... obviously genetically impossible in a pure Friesian... but then again he's a fantasy cartoon horse. Besides, real horses don't have eyebrows either ;)

My final is based on my Characters and the story of Conquering Tide. Here's some of the work Leading up to the newer pieces...

The Piece: I plan to make my 6 main characters out of glue, and create scene/dioramas that reflect their personality and ability/energy. Some will be on platforms, others in boxes, mounted on a giant board

WORK IN PROCESS

 Cardboard mock-up of the board. Decided to go for rectangular shape rather than oval, but it'll have basically the same layout. Approx 3.5meters long, 1.3meters tall. 

So, yup. It's a bloomin' big piece.

Foundation work Highlights (Sept-May 2012)

Place Project: Made little card dioramas based on characters and scenes in my series. Approx 2.5 inches tall.

Ephemeral: Worked with old Keyboards to create a stopmotion. Video COMING SOON!

Light Project: The first and original glue horses! I wanted to see if you could build the muscle structure out of glue, and if shining a light on/through the glue would show this.
